BLoSC: Zurg/GITS Wallpaper

"Sometimes, I wonder if I'm really who I think I am. Maybe I died a long time ago, and somebody took my brain and stuck it in this body. Maybe there was never even a real me in the first place, and I'm completely synthetic."
"You have organic brain cells in that terillium shell of yours. You're treated like other organics, so why are you complaining?"
"But that's just it - that's the only thing that makes me feel organic. The way I'm treated. I mean, who KNOWS what's inside our heads? Have you ever seen YOUR own brain?"

That's a piece of dialogue adapted from Ghost in the Shell, between Major Motoko Kusanagi and Batou. Here, the speakers are Zurg and Zomega, albeit a very, very young Zurg.

In For Good, Zurg is indeed an alien, but he is also a full-bodied cyborg, with his original brain encased in a cyborg body, a la GITS. I know this doesn't really jive with anybody else's ideas out there - Zurg fans seem to be divided, for the most part, between Man-In-A-Mask and Alien-The-Way-He-Looks. I kind of went for both and neither with my own idea.

This wallpaper always makes me feel sad. (Yes, this is another piece I've had sitting on my hard drive for years.)
